10 credits at NCEA Level 2 English, Health, History, Geography, or with HOD approval.
This course builds upon concepts and information taught in level 2 Physical Education.
In this course, students are expected to show a high degree of application of principles and skills learned in Level 1 and 2 to practical contexts. The course entails the application of safety management, evaluating traditional and constraints-led approaches to performance improvement programmes, leadership principles linked to coaching intermediate students and movement strategies. Students will have opportunities to apply what they have learnt in the classroom in practical scenarios outside of the classroom. The students have a chance to take part in a camp where students will experience a hands-on approach to risk management in activities such as High Ropes and Mountain Biking.
Students will attempt 15 credits throughout the year. This is a University Entrance approved course.
The approximate cost of camp is $250.
Students must wear the school's PE T-shirt and black shorts for every class (correct sports shoes are preferred over bare feet).
