PrerequisitesStudents will be selected for this course based on the progression of English results over years 9-10, along with other data such as e-asTTle, Reading Plus, and teacher recommendations.
This course is for students who have been identified as requiring additional support to achieve the NCEA Literacy co-requisite. Students in this course may also be taking Level 1 English or Level 1 ELANG. Earning these Literacy co-requisite credits is required to achieve any level of NCEA. The programme will focus on reading skills and improving written accuracy and fluency. Students will be placed in this course; it is not a subject that students self-select. During the year, there may be the opportunity to sit English achievement standards, but this is dependent on success in the co-requisites. This course progresses onto Level 1 English and Senior Literacy.
