L1 Physical Education

Course Description

This course builds upon concepts and information taught in year 10 Physical Education. 

In this course, students will develop their understanding of movement and kotahitanga strategies that can influence performance in physical activity contexts. They will take part in theory lessons where they will learn about physical and sociocultural aspects that they will apply in practical activities. 

The students will have a chance to attend a camp during the year for students to experience a hands-on approach experiencing different activities and the strategies they can implement to improve their movement skills and teamwork.

Students will attempt 15 credits throughout the year. This course leads to Level 2 Physical Education or Level 2 Sport and Recreation.

Prerequisites

Successful participation in year 10 Physical Education, or by negotiation with the HOD.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

The approximate cost of camp is $250.
Students must wear the school's PE T-shirt and black shorts for every class (correct sports shoes are preferred over bare feet).
Stationery required for this course: Chromebook / device
